Topics of discussion included an overview of the efforts to help redevelop and revitalize Sarasota’s historic black community – efforts that include the creation of an Enterprise Zone and Community Redevelopment Agency; the City of Sarasota’s storefront improvement program; better communications with Newtown residents and local organizations; and job creation and job preservation for the Newtown work force.
